I had the opportunity to share a keynote address with North Pacific Yearly Meeting this summer, and I just received my author copies of the newest Western Friend, which holds an abridged version of that talk. You can see the table of contents for the September/October 2021 edition here. There are several great contributions relating to the inward Light, as well as articles on racial justice, abolition, demilitarization, and conscientious objection. There are also abridged versions of keynote addresses from other yearly meetings in the American West and Sierra-Cascades Yearly Meeting’s epistle.
Although the abridged version of my talk is found in the print version, you can also read the unabridged version online here: “Courage, Fear, & Care: Creating Resilient Communities to Meet Climate Justice.” I hope it encourages you as you work toward shifting toward a more sustainable and just way of living, grounded in your spiritual community, and living out love with your neighbors in the community of all life.
